About the Track

Zac’s Mind-Bending Adventure is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to retro video game chaos and tabloid heroism. Inspired by the cult classic Zac McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, Whitmore Way channels lo-fi hero energy into a rollicking sci-fi punk tale filled with aliens, conspiracies, bus passes, and Groucho glasses. It’s a surreal, high-speed trip with a grin baked in.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I’m Zac McKracken, a journalist on the run,
My editor’s breathin’ down my neck, but I’m just tryin’ to have some fun.
A tabloid writer by day, but trouble’s in the air,
When alien phone machines start makin’ folks act unaware.

[Chorus]
Oh, I’m racin’ ‘round the globe, scroungin’ for the clues,
Flyin’ from San Francisco clear to Mars to chase the news,
Puzzle after puzzle, conspiracies unfold,
Zac’s got to stop the mind bend—before we all lose control!

[Verse 2]
There’s Caponian baddies lurking, messing with our brains,
They’re turnin’ normal people into puppets on their chains.
I’ve got my bus pass handy, but watch that phone bill rise—
Their twisted plan’s afoot, I see it right before my eyes!

[Bridge – Spoken in a playful, breathless tone]
“Oi, Annie! That clue leads to Cairo—
Better pack your Groucho glasses and the fish bowl for the goldfish!
Don’t forget the mop, it just might come in handy,
And watch out for those ancient Egyptians—
They’ve got secrets waiting, too!”

[Chorus]
Oh, I’m boppin’ on a plane, headin’ to stone temples old,
Chasin’ cryptic hieroglyphs, seeking secrets left untold.
Alien gadgets beepin’, cosmic puzzles loom,
Zac’s gotta save the planet—better do it rather soon!

[Verse 3]
I’m building a machine from a blueprint in a dream,
Gatherin’ weird components—silly as it seems.
But soon the power of Headese’ll banish mental bars,
And free the world from crazy calls—then I’ll shoot off to Mars!

[Chorus – Reprise]
Yes, I’m racin’ ‘round the globe, freein’ every mind,
From San Francisco pizza shops to heights of Inca shrines.
No more alien static, no more haunted phone lines,
With Zac McKracken on the case, the future’s lookin’ fine!

[Outro]
So tip your cap to Zac, the cosmic gumshoe star,
He overcame the Caponians, traveled near and far.
When your phone starts ringin’ nonsense, hey, just remember when—
Zac McKracken saved the day from alien mind-bend!
